Magarìe was born from a small passion and grew by following the seasons: fields of ancient grains and hemp, a craft workshop where the estate’s own extra virgin olive oil is transformed into pasta, flours, ointments, oleolites and balms prepared with wild herbs gathered from the surrounding woodland. No mass production — nature sets the rhythms and the quantities.
Everything finds its home at the Rifugio del Contadino, a creative country house conceived as a meeting place between rural life, art, and slow hospitality, run by Isabella together with her partner Cesare Siboni — an artist — and mamma Pina, guardian of Cilento’s culinary traditions. The walls tell stories through Cesare’s art; the table tells stories through mamma Pina’s hands. The same land, two different languages.
A qualified support worker for people on the autistic spectrum, Isabella runs inclusive hospitality projects at the Rifugio for young people with vulnerabilities: for her, the land has the power to bring out the best in each person, whatever their starting point.
